Top Ten GP Success for SDSmyhealthcare

The SDSmyhealthcare GP Federation is celebrating again today, as it was announced that five of our member practices made the top ten list of best GP practices in Birmingham. In first place was Keynell Covert, followed by West Heath Primary Care Centre (second), Selly Park Surgery (third), Yardley Medical Centre (fifth), and West Heath Surgery (eighth).

This independent and highly-regarded league table was compiled following the latest results of the GP Patient Survey. Involving over one million people each year, the GP Patient Survey is an ongoing study of patients and their experiences. It’s run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England.

“Highest level of patient satisfaction”

Nirmal Vora, CEO at SDSmyhealthcare, said:

"It’s great to see five SDSmyhealthcare practices make the top 10 list, including Keynell Covert voted number one. Our Federation fights hard to protect the independent General Practice model that patients want, and that is proven to give them the highest level of patient satisfaction. This latest success in the GP Patient Survey is further evidence of how effective our approach is.

“We serve over 453,000 of Birmingham's patient population,” Nirmal continued. “Our Federation is striving to further expand the suite of services we provide patients, in addition to our traditional primary care offering. The imminent launch of a video consultation service is just the latest example of our innovative approach in action.”

Dr Rajul Patodi, GP at Keynell Covert, said: “The whole team here at Keynell Covert works incredibly hard. It’s wonderful that their efforts have been recognised by the people that count.”

Seven key areas

The wide-ranging GP Patient Study covers seven key areas:

  • ease of getting an appointment

  • convenience of opening times

  • whether patients trust their GPs

  • whether GPs listen to their patients

  • whether patients are treated with care and concern by their GPs

  • helpfulness of receptionists

  • overall patient experience
